LEEDS, AL (April 23, 2017) – After a two-week break, the Verizon IndyCar Series traveled to Barber Motorsports Park for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Alexander Rossi had a tough weekend overall, as the team struggled to find the right set-up. But long meetings Saturday night led to improvement on race day. Through strategy and smart driving, Rossi improved 13 positions to finish P5 in the 90-lap race.
“Based on our starting position, we had to come up with something different,” said Rossi. “We knew we were stopping early, and then it was about how fast we can go while saving fuel. Considering we started 18th, the top five is really good.”

After a couple of solid stints keeping up with the leaders, Rossi was running as high as P6 when the second yellow came out a little too early. This forced him to pit out of strategy and he lost eight positions in the process. While pushing to make up for lost positions and managing fuel mileage, Rossi's misfortune continued. A punctured tire derailed the strategy...

But what’s funny about success is that it just fuels your desire and determination to do it again and again. Racing is my life and I relish the opportunity to take chances, re-define expectations,...
